The beautiful town of Midland, situated on the shores of Georgian Bay, has the largest collection of fresh water islands in the world as well as fresh water beaches, harbours, nature trails and a wonderful 19th-century British naval base.

The Discovery Harbour nestled on the shores of Penetanguishene Bay, features two British sailing ships, HMS Tecumseth and HMS Bee, as well as a restored officer's quarters. The site is also home to the King's Wharf Theatre, a wonderful summer theater.
In Castle Village you’ll find a rich diversity of historical and natural beauty of its National Park made up of 30,000 islands, boat cruises and almost any water sports you can think of, it also boasts many other attractions, including a medieval playground for kiddies with their favourite storybook characters like Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, and Snow White and for kids who are afraid of Dracula's Dungeon, there is an educational nature trail through the woods. Visit the Huronia Museum, Little Lake Park and Huron-Ouendat Village. Tour the historic Martyrs' Shrine Church the only Catholic shrine of pilgrimage in Ontario with its landscaped grounds set on a hill which slopes gently down to the little Wye River below. The Shrine has a rich history of the Jesuits who first arrived in the mid-17th century, wander around the restored buildings and see several historical interpreters recreating life as it was in the 17th century.
