Northern BC B&B Guide British Columbia
If you are planning a visit to the Northern BC area, then board the Skeena in Prince George for the train trip of awe and wonder of a lifetime!
The train heads through the majestic Coast Mountains and follows the mighty Skeena River, known as the “River of Mists”, down to the rain forests of the Pacific Coast with some spectacular scenery, all who visit are guaranteed to be captivated. Here you can retrace Ancient First Nations trading routes (Native Indians in Canada are referred to as the First Nations) and trace the paths of the earliest fur traders. Bald eagles, black bears, moose, and other wildlife might be spotted from the observation dome. As you travel towards the beautiful port of Prince Rupert you’ll notice surrounding the city some of the most awesome beauty as water, rainforest, hills and mountains meet in a spellbinding array of panoramic views. The fishing port is also very interesting, a must see is the Cow Bay Waterfront, a restored heritage area now home to museums, unique shops and restaurants where you can dine on some of the best salmon bake. It has some amazing wildlife on its doorstep and so much more to offer. From here you can visit an island once inhabited by the Metlakatla First Nation. You’ll be able to follow trails to explore the forest and see ancient petroglyphs.
