Glooscap Trail B&B Guide Nova Scotia
Visit The Glooscap Trail area with its mysteries and images of ancient legends of the Mi'kmaq. Listen to mighty Glooscap who it is told created Five Islands and controlled the great tides with his magic.
Due to the strange and magical tides you are able to experience the thrill of white water rafting upriver on the tidal bore, or even walk on the ocean floor before the tide comes rushing in again. The Glooscap Trail takes you along the spectacular shoreline of the Minas Basin, arguably one of North America's great natural treasures. Explore the pristine beaches, hike through the deep lush forest trail to a spectacular cascading waterfall, or enjoy the endless views from high atop towering sea cliffs where you may get to see eagles and osprey soaring high in the clear blue skies and where you can see moose graze in quiet marshes and during the fall there are thousands upon thousands of migratory shorebirds. Known, as the Hub of Nova Scotia is the town of Truro where the majestic power of the world's highest tides have shaped a landscape of unforgettable splendour. Among the many activities are the Tidal Bore rafting and kayaking or for the more relaxing, there are the Acres of Golden Pheasant Bird Sanctuary and the 1000-acre Victoria Park. You’ll find plenty of historical sights, museums, shops and fine restaurants and other amusement for all the family as well as great golf courses and excellent hiking areas. Other good nearby localities are: Parrsboro, Economy and Maitland.
