At the north-western tip of Prince Edward Island the first section of the Trail was completed at Tiginish, in the Sunset and Seascapes area.

Visit the St. Simon and St. Jude church, where a magnificent pipe organ is still in use in this pretty unified parish and a short distance away, visitors will find the popular and unusual carved rock formation called Elephant Rock. Watch the seals relaxing in the sheltered water and the fishermen returning with the morning's catch, or harvesting Irish moss, the reef at North Cape is truly impressive with its natural rock reef and where the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait meet with magnificent results, walk along the reef at low tide and watch the many seabirds and marine life frolicking before the sun-sets over the ocean into a glorious redden sky.
