General Description
Located in warm, friendly Cape Breton Island, on the scenic and historic Cabot Trail, amid beautiful scenery and situated on one of the finest Atlantic salmon rivers in North America, the Salmon Pool Inn caters to the avid fisherman as well as the traveler. Our inn is newly constructed and features all modern conveniences with the charm of rural living located amidst the beautiful rolling hills.

The inn is conveniently situated at the half-way point up the island and makes a perfectly located overnight stop for the Cabot Trail traveler.

The Salmon Pool Inn is also superbly located for trips around Cape Breton, particularly the Cabot Trail. Many of our guests are couples traveling together who make the inn their base for two or three days of sightseeing without the fuss and bother of changing accommodations every day. Day trips can be relaxed, no rushing or schedules to maintain. You can stay all day, have a nice dinner out, knowing your room is waiting for you.

We are 4 hours by car from the International Airport at Halifax and 1:30 hours from the Sydney airport. Baddeck is 45 minutes away and Fortress of Louisburg is 1:30 hours away.

This cedar-clad inn on the Margaree river near a profusion of salmon pools, where hospitality and fishing is on the menu at all times. The Margaree river while not only very beautiful is one of the only Atlantic salmon rivers in Nova Scotia that still produces good runs of these greatest of all fish. The Margaree has been described as the 'Cadillac of Salmon Rivers' and there are a large number of anglers from all over North America and Europe who return every year. You can relax in quiet comfort after fishing or day trips around the Cabot Trail.
