  B&B Location

Countryside
The 150 acre estate of the Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages celebrates the beauty and the bounty of Cape Breton Island. Situated on the Cabot Trail, it sits high on a brae overlooking the estuary of the North River as it flows into St. Ann's Bay.

Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages is named after the golden mushroom, Cantharellus cibarius, which grows in abundance over its 100 + acres. The Chanterelle mushroom is one of the most "choice" of all wild fungi because of its fragrant flavor. Cape Breton Chanterelles are shipped all over the world to some of the most exclusive restaurants and dining rooms. When they are in season, you will find this delicacy in many of the dishes served in the dining room at the Inn.

Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages bestows the tranquility of a secluded retreat. It is situated on the 'Artisans' Loop' of the Cabot Trail - the road less traveled. The Inn offers eight exquisite rooms and one two-room suite... all with private baths, ceiling fans, antique furnishings, oriental carpets and original works of art. It provides the perfect setting for retreats, romantic getaways, small weddings, executive meetings and other special occasions. The newly renovated one bedroom cottages offer housekeeping facilities, TVs and a spectacular view of the Harbour.
