Built in the mid 1800's it was for many years operated as a hotel by Carole's great grandmother, and grandparents. It has been beautifully renovated to retain the old Victorian charm but with modern facilities. We are pleased to offer two bedrooms, a private guest entrance, guest parlour with TV/VCR, ceiling fans, full home cooked breakfast on the sun porch (in season), and an evening snack. Check out is requested at 10:30am unless other arrangements have been made. Telephone and email services are available on request. Sorry, no pets or smoking in the house. ------------------------------------------------------------------- THINGS TO DO The Silver House Bed and Breakfast is surrounded by breathtaking beauty. There's Economy Falls and the Kenomee Walking Trail. You can also take in the Glooscap Country Bazaar or tour a World War Two Observation Tower. We are within walking distance (1.8 kms) of the Bay of Fundy, which is famous for the highest tides in the world. We're near Five Islands Provincial Park nature's own flower pot at Lower Economy. You can go clam digging, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. The Joy Laking Studio, That Dutchman's Cheese Farm Raspberry Bay Stone and Kenomee Log Homes are just some of the other nearby attractions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We're within an hours drive of the Fundy Geological Museum, the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill, and Victoria Park in Truro. We're close to the major centres of Amherst, Cape Breton, Halifax, Parrsboro and Truro. It features 2 twin four poster walnut beds and is beautifully decorated with the predominant colour being burgundy. It is bright and cheery with country quilts covering the beds. Private ensuite bath. (No Taxes) The Genevieve Room - $90.00 Named in honour of Carole's mother who was a school teacher in the area for many years. It boasts of an oak bedroom suite with a double bed. This very charming room is decorated in beautiful pink floral print and antique furnishings. Private bath. (No Taxes) --
