Inuvik B&B Guide Northwest Territories
There is so much to see and do in Inuvik, a charming town situated between a treeless tundra and the northern boreal forest, located about two degrees above the Arctic Circle on the scenic Mackenzie River and Canada's largest fresh water delta.
Overlooking the incredible maze of lakes and streams, also dubbed the Land of the Midnight Sun and Gateway to the Beaufort-Delta. Inuvik ‘means place of people,’ home to the Inuvialuit and Gwich'in, with a cultural heritage dating back thousands of years. The region provides endless outdoor activities and is also a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the midnight sun. With a wide range of recreational and experiences to make your visit enjoyable you can view spectacular views of the Richardson Mountains, or take a flight-seeing tour in the spring time to watch caribou in artic landscapes, see towering mountains from high above to rolling tundra, and from seacoast to boggy lowlands and boreal forest. Fishing in the pure waters is excellent, not forgetting the hiking and kayaking, bird watching and white-water rafting.
